WrestleMania 25 actual result

I just finished watching WM25, a nearly 4 hours event. Anyway, most of my predictions were WRONG!!!! Here I present you the actual result of all matches.

WWE Championship Match
Triple (c) vs. Randy Orton
What I say: I really think that Triple H will win but seems that Randy went so far for this title match, winning the Royal Rumble, get involve with MacMahon family. My last guess will be Randy Orton.

I am WRONG as Triple H retained his title after a kick to the head, a sledgehammer to the head follow by a Pedigree. This is the BEST match of the night, a truly MAIN EVENT material.

World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
Edge (c) vs. John Cena vs. Big Show
What I say: Edge is my favourite for this bout. But there are news saying he might need to take some time off to heal his injury, so the title probably will hand to John Cena, which is the outcome that I don't want to witness. Big Show just not a championship material because of the size of his body. If Cena win, I riot!!!

Shit! I am going to riot now. The darn John Cena won the title as expected. The match overall is just ok only. Not much surprise from the 3 wrestlers.

Intercontinental Championship Match
JBL (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
What I say: I pick Rey Mysterio.

I am CORRECT on this. Rey Mysterio won the title in just 21 seconds? Don't remember the actual timing, but he delivered a kick to JBL's head, then a dropkick to the back of JBL to send him to the second rope. Follow by famous 619 and then high frog splah. 1,2,3, game over for JBL. The outcome forced JBL to quit!!! Let's see what is the company next "plan" for him.

Brother vs. Brother
Extreme Rules Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
What I say: This match is setup because of the jealousy of the elder brother, Matt. He cost Jeff his WWE Title at the Royal Rumble in Jan by hitting him with the chair. I will pick Jeff to be the winner.

Matt won this. This was a good match because it was an extreme match. Meaning no rules, you can use whatever you like. I like to watch violent match where foreign objects being used as weapon. Haha.... Jeff missed a about 15-feet-high legdrop, and also Twist-of-Fate on the steel chair.

Elimination-Style Match
Ric Flair will be in the corner of the Legends while Mickey Rourke will be sitting at ringside
Chris Jericho vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Jimmy “Superfly”
What I say: Since this is 25th anniversary of WrestleMania, so I think the bad guy Jericho will not win!!

What surprise me is that Ricky Steamboat is as good as the current young wrestlers. He still can fly high and I think the body condition is the best among the 3 legends. Although eventually lost to the Jericho's Jaw's Breaker. Mickey Rourke finally went into the ring one-on-one with Jericho. It was just one punch that settle everything.

WWE & World Tag Team Championship Unification Match
Carlito & Primo (c) vs. John Morrison & The Miz (c)
What I say: John Morrison & The Miz are better in most of the way....... the skill, the interaction with audience etc etc.

I do not see this match!! How come? Just read the report, this match had been changed to dark match, means it won't been show in TV! Why? Because they wanna put Kidd Rock performance on TV?!?!

The Streak On The Line
Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
What I say: Prior to this match, people talking about Undertaker has 16-0 records for his 16 appearances in WrestleMania, in another word, he NEVER lost a match in WM. For Shawn Micheals, his advantage is he NEVER lost to Undertaker. They had 2 great matches (Hell in the Cell'97 and Royal Rumble'98), both interrupted by The Undertaker's brother, Kane.
I think WWE will want to keep The Undertaker's perfect record probably until 20-0.

17-0. But HBK survived ONE Chokeslam, ONE Last Ride and ONE Tombstone. He delivered TWO Sweet Chin Music and at the end The Undertaker turned a moonsault into another Tombstone. Then, HBK is R.I.P.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP vs. Christian vs. Mark Henry vs. Kane vs. CM Punk vs. Finlay vs. Kofi Kingston
What I say: I pick MVP.....

CM Punk made it again after claimed the same victory last year. Just few of the WOW, HollyShit and that's all. I missed the TLC matches by Hardys, Dudley and Edge & Christian. This is what we call CLASSIC!

25-Diva Battle Royal
Advertised Divas: Alicia Fox, Beth Phoenix, Brie Bella, Candice Michelle, Eve, Gail Kim, Jillian, Katie Lea, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Maria, WWE Divas Champion Maryse, WWE Women’s Champion Melina, Michelle McCool, Mickie James, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, and Tiffany
What I say: who care about this match anyway?

I shouldn't include this in my prediction at all!

I do enjoy some of the moment. Hope they will do better and better in the future.

Former WWE Star Andrew "Test" Martin Dead at 33

Another sad day in wrestling as another young man is dead. Today AP as well as other news sources around the country are reporting the death of Andrew "Test" Martin, who of course worked for years in the WWE as well as in TNA.

Here is the AP Piece on Martin's death:

Authorities say former professional wrestler Andrew Martin, who was known as "Test" and "The Punisher" to fans, has died at his Tampa home. He was 33.

The former World Wrestling Entertainment champion was found dead at his apartment Friday night. Police say a neighbor reported that she could see into his apartment window and that Martin appeared motionless for several hours.

Police say there was no indication of foul play. A cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.

During his time with Stamford, Conn.-based World Wrestling Entertainment, Martin held the Intercontinental, European and Hardcore belts. He was also a tag-team champion.

Martin most recently worked for TNA Wrestling under the name "The Punisher."

Martin was a big part of a couple of WWE storylines, the biggest of which was his "marriage" to Stephanie McMahon, which in the end led her to her "marriage" to Triple H (which of course is now real).

The last time he was in the WWE he was in ECW as a heel, and was a mid-level wrestler on the shows as he would get on a hot streak, only to then lose before gaining any real momentum. Thoughts and prayers go out to Martin's family today.

WrestleMania

WrestleMania, the biggest event in the wrestling history. It is roduced annually in late March or early April by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It is considered the flagship pay-per-view event of WWE, as it is the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in the world.

WrestleMania is nicknamed "The Grandaddy of Them All", "The Grandest Stage of Them All" and "The Showcase of the Immortals." The event was first produced in 1985, and 24 editions have been produced as of 2008, with WrestleMania XXV to be held in 2009. So WrestleMania is 25 year-old this coming April.

Conceptualized by WWE owner Vince McMahon, WrestleMania has become one of the most prominent events in sports entertainment. Its widespread success helped transform the professional wrestling industry and make the WWE the most successful promotion in North America.

WrestleMania has facilitated the rise to stardom of wrestlers such as The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, and Triple H, amongst others. Numerous celebrities such as Muhammad Ali, Mr. T, Alice Cooper, Lawrence Taylor, Pamela Anderson, Mike Tyson, Donald Trump, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Snoop Dogg, Raven-Symone, Kim Kardashian and others have participated or made special appearances in the events.

The WWE's television shows are tailored to reach their climax at WrestleMania, which features matches for the company's championship titles, as well as specialty and gimmick matches. Participation in a WrestleMania match, and especially the main event, is considered by many wrestlers and fans alike as one of the greatest achievements and symbols of success in professional wrestling.

It will be my most anticipating pay-per-view through out the whole year. So see you WrestleMania at 5th April 2009!

Funny Finishing Moves

Here comes the Rock Bottom!! And 1, 2, 3. Ting Ting Ting.... The Rock just pinned Stone Cold Steve Austin!!

Pedigree! Swanton Bomb! 619! Stone Cold Stunner! Batistabomb! Chokeslam! Tombstone! All these are the famous finishing moves by the superstars. Choosing a good finishing move is as important as the gimmick. A wrestler can look funny if the finishing move is...... funny and ridiculous.

Here are some that I think is more toward entertaining rather than hurting the opponent:

1) John Cena's FU. Frankly speaking I don't really like John Cena due to his boring in-ring performance. His same boring moves days after days. But he is good on mic! And he can rap too!

Put your opponent on the shoulder height, and slam him to the floor! Ouch! Pretty painful huh?!? Overbody drop should have more pain than this one, I believe!!

2) The Rock's People Elbow

An elbow drop with very fancy entertaining moves prior to it. Take out the elbow pad, throw it to the audience. Cross both hands, then run to your left and bounced and run to the right, do something funny, drop an elbow to your opponent's chest. Emmm.... Glad that The Rock has Rock Bottom!

3) Scotty Too Hotty's worm!

OMG! We used to crazy about this W.O.R.M move!! I remembered when I was still the first year in University, me and my friends learned hard to do this move! We did it on the concrete floor! Yeah!

If you have some other funnier moves want to share, leave me a message!

Austin Vs Owen Hart at SummerSlam 97

SummerSlam took place on August 3, 1997 at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. One of the match in the pay-per-view was the Intercontinental Championship (IC) match between the champion Owen Hart and the challenger Stone Cold Steve Austin.

To me, this is very memorable match that I had ever watched. Why? It is because this match's ending confirmed that every wrestling matches were pre-planned. I used to think that they really fight to be the winner. I am not saying that wrestling is faked because you won't say so as well after you watch the video below:

Obviously Austin's neck was hurt by Owen Hart's sitting tombstone move. And when they realized Austin really get hurt, you can see Owen walking around taunting the fans, just to bought some times for Austin to recover. Then out of a sudden, a very weak Austin grabbed Owen from behind and pinned him!!! Austin is the new IC Champion!!!

To WWE (then still called WWF), Austin can't lose. Probably because
1) Prior to their SummerSlam match, Austin sweared to his fan that IF he lose, he will kiss Owen's butt, in Austin way of saying will be "kiss Owen's ass!". Austin just can't kiss Owen's butt because he is everyone's hero and he is the man on his word.

2) If Austin lost, it will be hard to push Austin to the higher level because he can't even beat The Nugget Owen Hart!! So how can he faces the guys like The Undertaker? Shawn Micheals? Austin was one of the most valuable item in WWE at that time!

OK, that are just my opinion only. From the match, I realized 2 things:
1) Wrestling is not faked. Look at Austin in the video and also the neck injury has caused him his short wrestling career. Austin was retired from full time wrestling action year 2004, if I not mistaken.

2) The match ending was planned rather than the actual situation. Owen could simply win the match if it was not planned beforehand.

Anyway, one is retired and another one had R.I.P! Just want to share with you guy!

Types of wrestling match

You may have seen a lot of wrestling matches and found that why sometimes referee called for bell when a wrestler use a chair to hit his opponent and sometimes not! This is because there are a lot of different types of matches around, different type carries different rules. So let's see what are the most common matches that we do see:

1)Normal match: In order to win this match, wrestler must pin or make his opponent to submit through submission move or his opponent get counted out (stay away from the ring for 10 seconds) or by disqualification (hit by foreign object by his opponent eg chair).

2)Battle Royal: Few wrestlers in the ring at once. Competitors throw each other over the top rope and the last one left in the ring is the winner. Only both feet touched the floor consider a wrestler is out.

3) Buried Alive Match: Basically no rules where everything can be used for the match. The winner will need to throw the opponent into the hole and bury it with sand until the hole is fully covered.

4) Fatal Four Way: Almost same rules as normal match just that it doesn't count wrestler out. 4 wrestlers compete each other in the ring and the first one who get pin or submission will be the winner.

5) Triple Treat Match: Same as Fatal Four Way but with 3 wrestlers only.

6) First Blood Match: Another no-rules kind of match, you can fight with anything at any place. To win the match, you got to make your opponent bleeding first.

7) Hell In The Cell: Wrestle inside a fifteen foot high roofed steel cage, it is a no disqualified match. You got to pin or make your opponent tapped out to win the match.

8) Iron Man Match: No, it is not ironing clothes competition. 2 wrestlers will compete in a normal match rules for 60 minutes. The one with the most pinfall count made will be the winner. If the pinfall count still the same after 60 minutes, extra time is activated and whoever get the faster pinfall will be declared as winner.

9) Ladder Match: With championship belt hanged about 12 feet above the ring, 2 wrestlers or tag teams compete with everything is on. The match continue until any participant climb up the ladder and take down the belt.

10) Money in the Bank match has the same logic as ladder match just that a suitcase will be hanged instead of championship belt. The winner has right to challenge any World Heavyweight Champion in 365 days.

11) Lumberjack Match: Ring surrounded by wrestlers and their job is to attacked the participant that falled out of ring and throw him back. A normal match rules will applied.

12) Steel Cage Match: A fifteen foot high cage is constructed around the ring, to win the match you got to either pin your opponent OR make your opponent tapped out OR get out of the ring and both feet touched the floor.

13) Survivor Series Match: Two teams of either four or five wrestle together. Each time someone loses, he or she is eliminated from the match. It continues until one side has zero members active.

14) Falls Count Anywhere match: A Falls Count Anywhere match is a match where pinfalls or submission can take place in any location, negating the standard rule that they must take place inside the ring and between the ropes.

15) Handicap match: A Handicap match is any match where one wrestler or team of wrestlers face off against a team of wrestlers with numerical superiority such as two against one, or three against two. In some two-on-one handicap matches the team with superior numbers act under tag team rules, with one person in the ring at a time.

16) Bra and Panties match: A Bra and Panties match is so named because it takes place between two female competitors and the winner is the first one to strip her opponent to nothing but her bra and panties. My favourites!!

17) Last Man Standing match: The Last Man Standing match is a hardcore-style match where the only way to win is by knockout. That is, a wrestler will lose the match if they are unable to answer a ten-count after being downed.

18) Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) match: A tables, ladders and chairs match, is an extension of a Ladder match with chairs and tables also being present as legal weapons.

19) Elimination Chamber match: The Elimination Chamber is a large, circular steel cage which surrounds the ring entirely, including creating a grated floor area on the apron. Inside the cage, at each turnbuckle, is a clear "pod" where four of the six competitors in the match must wait to be released to join the two who start at the opening bell. As the name implies, wrestlers are eliminated one-by-one until only one remains.

Wow..... There are still lot of matches that I didn't share it out here. If I do, I will probably need another 5 days to write it down here :)

Stay safe. Please don't try this at home!

Montreal Screwjob

The Montreal Screwjob was the real life double-crossing of defending WWF Champion Bret Hart by Vince McMahon, the owner of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), during the main event match of the professional wrestling pay-per-view event Survivor Series held on November 9, 1997 at the Molson Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

A secret change of the match's pre-determined finish (known as a "shoot screwjob" in professional wrestling parlance) was devised by McMahon and discussed with Hart's match opponent, Shawn Michaels. The plan was executed when the match referee, Earl Hebner, under orders from McMahon, called for the bell to ring and ended the match as Michaels held Hart in the Sharpshooter submission hold (Hart's signature finishing move), even though Hart had not submitted. Michaels was declared the victor by submission and crowned as the new WWF Champion.

The reason for this screwjob was rooted in Hart's decision to leave McMahon's company for its chief competitor, World Championship Wrestling (WCW), after McMahon told Hart that financial problems would not allow him to keep Hart on under his recently signed 20 year contract. Hart, who cited a clause in his contract that granted him "reasonable creative control", was steadfast in his refusal to lose a match hosted in his home country, Canada, especially against Shawn Michaels, with whom he did not get along. McMahon remained insistent that Hart should lose to Michaels in Montreal, fearing that his company's business would suffer if WCW announced Hart as its latest signing while he still held the WWF World title. Although Hart and McMahon agreed to a compromise on the match ending that allowed Hart to retain the title, McMahon was determined to remove the title from Hart.

The screwjob has garnered a notorious legacy both on-screen and off, and was partly chronicled in the documentary film Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows. The far-reaching impact of the incident led to its adoption as a theme in matches and storylines of the WWF's Attitude Era and the creation of the character, "Mr. McMahon", the evil boss. Hart was ostracized from the WWF, while McMahon and Michaels continued to receive angry responses from audiences for many years. The relationship between Hart and McMahon later healed, however, culminating in Hart's induction on April 1, 2006 into the company's Hall of Fame.

Wrestling that I know

I have been watching wrestling match since 19 years ago. Just want to share my view on the wrestling to all of you, it doesn't matter you like it or not.

Everything started with World Wrestling Federation(the WWE now), WWF is like a branding stuff at that time which everybody want to watch. And I usually watched wrestling match at kopitiam. It was because afraid of be scolded by parents. Later stage, I started renting video tapes home but only watched it after midnight, just like how we watched porn tape. Haha! Lastly I become so brave that I dared to watched at home in front of my parents and after few times, they got used of this.

Vincent Kennedy MacMahon is the boss of WWF. He is the guy that revolutionalize the whole wrestling world into a making money machine. He created not one, not two but many superstars such as Hulk Hogan's Hulkamania and Stone Cold famous AUSTIN 3:16. He likes wrestling but his father did not allowed him to get involved in the matches. I believe this continue until he took over the company and he started to starring in some interesting matches.

Hulk Hogan,Ultimate Warrior,Rick Rude,Million Dollar Man,Macho Man以及还不是独当一面的Bret Hart和Shawn Micheals等等。
WWF back at 19 years ago, the wrestlers are divided into Face and Heel group. Face is the one the audiences love to support while heel represents the bad guy. It was very simple, good guys only hang out with good guys and samething goes to bad guys. Hulk Hogan,Ultimate Warrior,Rick Rude,Million Dollar Man,Macho Man, Shawn Micheal, Bret Hart are among them.

其他的选手有The Undertaker(老臣子之一),Shawn Micheals,Triple H(老板的女婿),The Rock等等。
Til the year 1996/97, Austin made changes to the WWF. He spoke fault language, he showed no respect to others, he trusted nobody but himself that made people loves him. The storyline between him and the boss put WWF all the way up to the sky and crashing down their opponent, WCW.

Now is called WWE era. The difference is now they almost monopoly the sport entertainment world. It has 3 brands, RAW, SmackDown and ECW. Each brand has its own championship belt and wrestlers, they seldom across the brand unless is necessary.

The biggest change I found on WWE now is that they not longer put much effort on the tag team. This is obvious that from their past pay-per-view, you won't see lot tag team championship matches on the list. Dunno why?

That's it for today. Hope you are not getting bored.

TNA Wrestling

I have been written the same title in my another blog. Click HERE to read it (it is in Chinese language).

After watching TNA's latest pay-per-view, Against All Odds, I think I know why TNA still unable to compete with WWE.

First of all, the interaction between wrestlers are poor. Maybe I didn't follow their weekly programs and straight away go to the pay-per-view, feel weird. The flow of the show is not that smooth, make me wanna stop watching it. I can't switch channel because it was downloaded video clips. Shh....

The battle between the 2 big size wrestlers, Abyss and Matt Morgan also very disappointed me. They fight like old men, they slow, their punches looked like can only kill the ants. Weapons brought out but never use. The finishing part also ridiculous, Abyss seems "putting" Morgan on the floor, just like that.

The main event, Team 3D vs Kurt Angle vs Sting, also disappointed. Nothing worth to be highlighted here. I think the scripting team and the wrestlers both having problems which lead to the silent crowd, i mean myself :p

I used to think that TNA is awlays full of surprise and explosion, but after this PPV, I think I would just stick with WWE.
