Another sad day in wrestling as another young man is dead. Today AP as well as other news sources around the country are reporting the death of Andrew "Test" Martin, who of course worked for years in the WWE as well as in TNA.
Here is the AP Piece on Martin's death:
Authorities say former professional wrestler Andrew Martin, who was known as "Test" and "The Punisher" to fans, has died at his Tampa home. He was 33.
The former World Wrestling Entertainment champion was found dead at his apartment Friday night. Police say a neighbor reported that she could see into his apartment window and that Martin appeared motionless for several hours.
Police say there was no indication of foul play. A cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
During his time with Stamford, Conn.-based World Wrestling Entertainment, Martin held the Intercontinental, European and Hardcore belts. He was also a tag-team champion.
Martin most recently worked for TNA Wrestling under the name "The Punisher."
Martin was a big part of a couple of WWE storylines, the biggest of which was his "marriage" to Stephanie McMahon, which in the end led her to her "marriage" to Triple H (which of course is now real).
The last time he was in the WWE he was in ECW as a heel, and was a mid-level wrestler on the shows as he would get on a hot streak, only to then lose before gaining any real momentum. Thoughts and prayers go out to Martin's family today.

WrestleMania
WrestleMania is nicknamed "The Grandaddy of Them All", "The Grandest Stage of Them All" and "The Showcase of the Immortals." The event was first produced in 1985, and 24 editions have been produced as of 2008, with WrestleMania XXV to be held in 2009. So WrestleMania is 25 year-old this coming April.
Conceptualized by WWE owner Vince McMahon, WrestleMania has become one of the most prominent events in sports entertainment. Its widespread success helped transform the professional wrestling industry and make the WWE the most successful promotion in North America.
WrestleMania has facilitated the rise to stardom of wrestlers such as The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, and Triple H, amongst others. Numerous celebrities such as Muhammad Ali, Mr. T, Alice Cooper, Lawrence Taylor, Pamela Anderson, Mike Tyson, Donald Trump, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Snoop Dogg, Raven-Symone, Kim Kardashian and others have participated or made special appearances in the events.
The WWE's television shows are tailored to reach their climax at WrestleMania, which features matches for the company's championship titles, as well as specialty and gimmick matches. Participation in a WrestleMania match, and especially the main event, is considered by many wrestlers and fans alike as one of the greatest achievements and symbols of success in professional wrestling.
It will be my most anticipating pay-per-view through out the whole year. So see you WrestleMania at 5th April 2009!
Funny Finishing Moves
Here comes the Rock Bottom!! And 1, 2, 3. Ting Ting Ting.... The Rock just pinned Stone Cold Steve Austin!!
Pedigree! Swanton Bomb! 619! Stone Cold Stunner! Batistabomb! Chokeslam! Tombstone! All these are the famous finishing moves by the superstars. Choosing a good finishing move is as important as the gimmick. A wrestler can look funny if the finishing move is...... funny and ridiculous.
Here are some that I think is more toward entertaining rather than hurting the opponent:
1) John Cena's FU. Frankly speaking I don't really like John Cena due to his boring in-ring performance. His same boring moves days after days. But he is good on mic! And he can rap too!
Put your opponent on the shoulder height, and slam him to the floor! Ouch! Pretty painful huh?!? Overbody drop should have more pain than this one, I believe!!
2) The Rock's People Elbow
An elbow drop with very fancy entertaining moves prior to it. Take out the elbow pad, throw it to the audience. Cross both hands, then run to your left and bounced and run to the right, do something funny, drop an elbow to your opponent's chest. Emmm.... Glad that The Rock has Rock Bottom!
3) Scotty Too Hotty's worm!
OMG! We used to crazy about this W.O.R.M move!! I remembered when I was still the first year in University, me and my friends learned hard to do this move! We did it on the concrete floor! Yeah!
If you have some other funnier moves want to share, leave me a message!
Austin Vs Owen Hart at SummerSlam 97
SummerSlam took place on August 3, 1997 at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. One of the match in the pay-per-view was the Intercontinental Championship (IC) match between the champion Owen Hart and the challenger Stone Cold Steve Austin.
To me, this is very memorable match that I had ever watched. Why? It is because this match's ending confirmed that every wrestling matches were pre-planned. I used to think that they really fight to be the winner. I am not saying that wrestling is faked because you won't say so as well after you watch the video below:
Obviously Austin's neck was hurt by Owen Hart's sitting tombstone move. And when they realized Austin really get hurt, you can see Owen walking around taunting the fans, just to bought some times for Austin to recover. Then out of a sudden, a very weak Austin grabbed Owen from behind and pinned him!!! Austin is the new IC Champion!!!
To WWE (then still called WWF), Austin can't lose. Probably because
1) Prior to their SummerSlam match, Austin sweared to his fan that IF he lose, he will kiss Owen's butt, in Austin way of saying will be "kiss Owen's ass!". Austin just can't kiss Owen's butt because he is everyone's hero and he is the man on his word.
2) If Austin lost, it will be hard to push Austin to the higher level because he can't even beat The Nugget Owen Hart!! So how can he faces the guys like The Undertaker? Shawn Micheals? Austin was one of the most valuable item in WWE at that time!
OK, that are just my opinion only. From the match, I realized 2 things:
1) Wrestling is not faked. Look at Austin in the video and also the neck injury has caused him his short wrestling career. Austin was retired from full time wrestling action year 2004, if I not mistaken.
2) The match ending was planned rather than the actual situation. Owen could simply win the match if it was not planned beforehand.
Anyway, one is retired and another one had R.I.P! Just want to share with you guy!

Types of wrestling match
You may have seen a lot of wrestling matches and found that why sometimes referee called for bell when a wrestler use a chair to hit his opponent and sometimes not! This is because there are a lot of different types of matches around, different type carries different rules. So let's see what are the most common matches that we do see:
1)Normal match: In order to win this match, wrestler must pin or make his opponent to submit through submission move or his opponent get counted out (stay away from the ring for 10 seconds) or by disqualification (hit by foreign object by his opponent eg chair).
2)Battle Royal: Few wrestlers in the ring at once. Competitors throw each other over the top rope and the last one left in the ring is the winner. Only both feet touched the floor consider a wrestler is out.
3) Buried Alive Match: Basically no rules where everything can be used for the match. The winner will need to throw the opponent into the hole and bury it with sand until the hole is fully covered.
4) Fatal Four Way: Almost same rules as normal match just that it doesn't count wrestler out. 4 wrestlers compete each other in the ring and the first one who get pin or submission will be the winner.
5) Triple Treat Match: Same as Fatal Four Way but with 3 wrestlers only.
6) First Blood Match: Another no-rules kind of match, you can fight with anything at any place. To win the match, you got to make your opponent bleeding first.
7) Hell In The Cell: Wrestle inside a fifteen foot high roofed steel cage, it is a no disqualified match. You got to pin or make your opponent tapped out to win the match.
8) Iron Man Match: No, it is not ironing clothes competition. 2 wrestlers will compete in a normal match rules for 60 minutes. The one with the most pinfall count made will be the winner. If the pinfall count still the same after 60 minutes, extra time is activated and whoever get the faster pinfall will be declared as winner.
9) Ladder Match: With championship belt hanged about 12 feet above the ring, 2 wrestlers or tag teams compete with everything is on. The match continue until any participant climb up the ladder and take down the belt.
10) Money in the Bank match has the same logic as ladder match just that a suitcase will be hanged instead of championship belt. The winner has right to challenge any World Heavyweight Champion in 365 days.
11) Lumberjack Match: Ring surrounded by wrestlers and their job is to attacked the participant that falled out of ring and throw him back. A normal match rules will applied.
12) Steel Cage Match: A fifteen foot high cage is constructed around the ring, to win the match you got to either pin your opponent OR make your opponent tapped out OR get out of the ring and both feet touched the floor.
13) Survivor Series Match: Two teams of either four or five wrestle together. Each time someone loses, he or she is eliminated from the match. It continues until one side has zero members active.
14) Falls Count Anywhere match: A Falls Count Anywhere match is a match where pinfalls or submission can take place in any location, negating the standard rule that they must take place inside the ring and between the ropes.
15) Handicap match: A Handicap match is any match where one wrestler or team of wrestlers face off against a team of wrestlers with numerical superiority such as two against one, or three against two. In some two-on-one handicap matches the team with superior numbers act under tag team rules, with one person in the ring at a time.
16) Bra and Panties match: A Bra and Panties match is so named because it takes place between two female competitors and the winner is the first one to strip her opponent to nothing but her bra and panties. My favourites!!
17) Last Man Standing match: The Last Man Standing match is a hardcore-style match where the only way to win is by knockout. That is, a wrestler will lose the match if they are unable to answer a ten-count after being downed.
18) Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) match: A tables, ladders and chairs match, is an extension of a Ladder match with chairs and tables also being present as legal weapons.
19) Elimination Chamber match: The Elimination Chamber is a large, circular steel cage which surrounds the ring entirely, including creating a grated floor area on the apron. Inside the cage, at each turnbuckle, is a clear "pod" where four of the six competitors in the match must wait to be released to join the two who start at the opening bell. As the name implies, wrestlers are eliminated one-by-one until only one remains.
Wow..... There are still lot of matches that I didn't share it out here. If I do, I will probably need another 5 days to write it down here :)
Stay safe. Please don't try this at home!
